£2 offer sees thousands of families enjoy a cheaper day out by rail

A £2kids’ deal from Abellio Greater Anglia has seen over 20,000 children enjoy a cheaperday out by rail this summer.

Thetrain operator released the special off-peak fare for children aged betweenfive and 15 on most routes across its network, selling over 40,000 tickets fromJuly to September.

Thewalk-up discount fare, which meant that accompanying children travelled forless than the price of a sandwich, saw thousands of families taking advantageof the opportunity to leave the car at home and enjoy a great value day out bytrain.

AndyCamp, Abellio Greater Anglia’s Commercial Director said: “We introduced thisoffer in response to customer feedback so we are delighted that it provedpopular, seeing thousands of families across East Anglia enjoying a bargain summerday out with us.”
