Abellio Greater Anglia invests in Lea Valley line improvements

Work is underway to spruce up rail stationsalong the Lea Valley line, thanks to a £200K investment by train operator,Abellio Greater Anglia.

The investment will mean improvements forTottenham Hale, Northumberland Park, Angel Road, Ponders End, Brimsdown,Enfield Lock, Waltham Cross and Cheshunt stations.

Abellio Greater Anglia is currentlyreplacing all the signs at every station along the line to help create asmarter appearance and improve way-finding.

To continue to create more pleasantstations for passengers along the route, removal of weeds along the platformsand sidings at Ponders End, Brimsdown and Waltham Cross is about to commence.


In addition, the platforms and waiting rooms at Tottenham Hale and Cheshuntwill benefit from new wooden style benches which replace the older style metalbenches. The new seating, supplied by Macemain and Amstad, will improve theappearance of the platforms and is compliant with the requirements of theDisability Discrimination Act to ensure ease of use by those with mobilityissues.

Brimsdown, Ponders End, Northumberland Parkand Enfield Lock will each benefit from two new Customer Information Screens whichwill display train running information in a clear, easy to read format. Theproject will see the old customer information screens replaced with the latestLED technology. This will mean a real improvement in the provision ofinformation for customers at the stations with brighter, clearer screens.
