Chance to view Ipswich station redevelopment plans

Abellio Greater Anglia isdue to commence work to redevelop Ipswich rail station this autumn and hasannounced two open days where passengers can see the plans.

Abellio Greater Anglia managers will be onhand on Tuesday 29th September (0700-1100) and Wednesday 30thSeptember (1600-2000) to answer any questions and provide passengers withinformation about the work.

The redevelopment of Ipswich station willinclude a new ticket office,booking hall, gateline and improved retail outlets.

The plans will allow for a more spacious layout andnew, additional retail outlets in the booking hall as well as waitingfacilities and improved customer information.

The work is being funded by the National StationsImprovement Programme and will significantly improve the facilities and waitingenvironment for passengers.

Abellio Greater Anglia’s Area Customer ServiceManager, Alan Trett, commented: “We hope that passengers will appreciate theopportunity to see what is planned for the station and ask any questions theymay have before the work starts. The redevelopment will greatly improve thelayout of the booking hall area and create a more spacious, modern feel tobring the station into the 21st century and improve the stationenvironment for our customers.”
