Customer improvements on the Bittern Line

Passengers on the Bittern Line are set tobenefit from improved facilities following a boost from the local communityrail partnership.

New Customer Information Screens are now inplace at Cromer, Sheringham and Hoveton and Wroxham Rail Stations which givepassengers access to up-to-the-minute information regarding services along theBittern Line.

James Reeve, Area Customer Services Managerfor Abellio Greater Anglia, said: “This will help to improve the passengerexperience for those using the line. We are always looking for ways to strengthencommunication with customers and the screen will provide live information.

“The Bittern Line plays an important rolein the community linking the beautiful north Norfolk coast to the heart ofNorwich city.”

The Bittern Line has seen a growth in thenumber of passengers over the past year following the hourly Sunday service betweenNorwich and Sheringham.

The new screens represent an investment ofmore than £20,000 and were funded by the Bittern Line Community RailPartnership.

Ted Gadsden from the Bittern Line CommunityRail Partnership, said: “The line is vital for those who lack access to privatetransport. Some of the stations are unmanned and the screens are essential inhelping to provide information for customers.”
