Electrial upgrade at Buckenham and Haddiscoe complete

AbellioGreater Anglia has completed an electrical upgrade at Buckenham and Haddiscoerail stations to make them more energy-efficient.

Thetrain operator’s ‘Rewire, Relight’ project has seen every lighting unit on the platformsreplaced with more energy-efficient ones and a complete rewiring at bothstations.

Newvariable controls and automatic settings for the lighting will help to reduceelectricity consumption and improve energy-efficiency, reducing the carbonfootprint of both stations on the Norwich – Lowestoft ‘Wherry Lines’ route.

AbellioGreater Anglia’s Programme Delivery Manager, Simon Wilson, said, “The Rewire,Relight project is helping to create more energy-efficient stations and, at thesame time, improve the station ambience and environment for passengers.”
