Rail station waiting rooms and toilet facilities across the region areset to shine, as Abellio Greater Anglia commences a spring clean of its busieststations.
An updated programme of regular cleaning has been created for 29stations** which account for more than 80 per cent of the passenger footfallacross the Abellio Greater Anglia network.
Three dedicated teams will focus on the fortnightly cleaning of toilets,waiting rooms and glazing, in addition tothe stations’ usual cleaning regimes, to ensure that stationfacilities meet the high standards of cleanliness expected by customers and create a smarter, more welcoming environment.
This further initiativedemonstrates a continued focus on creating a pleasant travelling environmentand follows the train operator’s investment last year in an additional 56 cleaners, 40 ofwhom focus on ensuring that litter is removed from trains and that the on-boardtoilet facilities are clean, as well as a £30,000 investment in new cleaningequipment - all of which has had a positive effect on the company’s most recentNational Passenger Survey results.

Our new cleaners will provide an extra focus on trains,giving attention where required for improved passenger comfort.”
