A Greater Anglia Customer Panel – which provides feedback to the train operator about issues and journeys – is looking for new members.

Rail users who travel on the eastern part of the network on branch lines to and from Norwich and Ipswich, and the Marks Tey to Sudbury route, are being asked to join up to help the train operator improve services for passengers.

The East Customer Panel meets with Greater Anglia representatives six times a year at various locations to offer feedback, suggestions and ideas.

Since the group started in 2012, they have helped with projects such as providing feedback about cleanliness and facilities on trains and at stations and the designs for Greater Anglia’s brand new trains. They have also been asked for their views on the train operator’s mobile app and website.

Greater Anglia’s Head of Customer Service - East, Neil Grabham, said, “We are always willing to listen to feedback to help us continually improve the service we offer to our passengers and the Customer Panels have been instrumental in a number of improvements that are helping to make our customers’ lives a little easier.

“If you want to help make a difference and improve your local train service, please apply to become a member.”

Chair of the East Panel, Andrew Goffin, said: “Over the last five-and-a-half years we have been involved in various projects, from looking at the impact of enforcing cycle policy to being consulted on the introduction of smartcards on the network – as well as giving general feedback on our experience of using Greater Anglia trains.

“It’s been very rewarding to be actively involved in making a difference for rail passengers and we’ve also gained a greater understanding of what goes on behind the scenes to run a train service.

“We get invited to meet senior managers and directors, as well as representatives from Network Rail, and we have the opportunity to question them and provide feedback about events and incidents.”

Anyone interested in joining the panel can apply at [email protected], stating why they wish to join and the routes they normally travel on. More information can be found at greateranglia.co.uk/panels.
