Commuters heading to East Anglia from London got to know their Merlot from their Pinot Grigio as Greater Anglia held a wine tasting event on-board a train to launch its new partnership with Adnams.

Commuters on the 15.00 service from London to Norwich today were treated to a taste of the new Adnams wine range on their journey, and were given tasting notes and information by Adnams staff.

Michael Wyatt, Greater Anglia’s Business Manager – On Board Catering, said, “We are always reviewing and updating our products in the café bar to ensure that we are offering quality products to our passengers, with wine being no exception, so we have replaced our entire range with this great new selection.

“Adnams has a strong brand that is well known for its quality and they are also local to our region, so we’re delighted to be able to work with them to offer great wines for our passengers to enjoy.”

“Passengers were very happy to try the different wines on offer and we’ve had some great feedback and lots of interest in the new range.”

Adnams Wine buyer, Lydia Harrowven, said, “We work hard to source wines of outstanding quality, consistently giving added value to our customers.

“Our range is packed full of easy going and approachable wine styles that we know are real crowd pleasers and that our customers will love.

“We seek out the classics as well as the quirky to encourage our customers to try something new. We understand the importance of sourcing wines that are vegan and vegetarian friendly and are continually evolving our range to meet that requirement.”
