Improved facilities and easier access at Ely rail station

Improvementsat Ely rail station mean the ticket office, waiting room and toilet facilitiesare now much easier to use for those with mobility issues.

AbellioGreater Anglia has completed an upgrade scheme to create a better waitingenvironment for rail passengers and bring the station facilities in line withthe requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

A newly refurbished waitingroom between platforms two and three isnow open and features push-button automatic doors, a train departure summaryscreen and energy-efficient heating, as well as new flooring and seating andredecoration in Abellio Greater Anglia colours.

The existing toiletfacilities have also been remodelled so they are fullyaccessible to those with mobility problems and the ticket office benefits fromthe installation of an induction loop.

The platforms too have new wooden style benches which replace the older style metal benches andare also DDA compliant.
