Improvement work commences at Ingatestone rail station

Abellio GreaterAnglia has commenced the first phase of a package of improvements planned forIngatestone rail station.

Work started this weekend to upgrade platform2, including spot replacement of damaged copers (slabs at the platform edge) and tactiles(the contoured slabs next to the copers which warn passengers both visually andby their texture of approach to the edge of the platform), drainageimprovements and platform re-surfacing.

Similar work isalso due to be carried out on platform 1 over the coming months and bothplatforms will be widened in places.

Further improvements planned include:restoration of the station house, canopy repairs, repairs to station buildings,electrical improvements, upgrades to the customer toilet facilities andrefurbishment of the footbridge.
