Improvement work starts at Hockley rail station

Rail passengers arebenefiting from improvements to Hockley rail station as Abellio Greater Angliacontinues work to refurbish the station buildings, canopy, platforms andfootbridge.

Work carried out so farincludes:

  • canopy renewal andredecoration on both platforms;

  • repairs to buildings andwalls throughout the station

  • vegetation clearance;

  • an upgrade of theelectrical connection between the platforms.

The remainder of thework will be carried out during the weekends of 12/13th March and19/20th March and includes:

  • repairs to both platforms,including resurfacing, spot replacement of damaged copers (slabs at the platformedge);

  • installation of newdrainage;

  • footbridge renovation.
