Mayor to view improvement work at Attleborough station

The Mayor ofAttleborough, Tony Perkins, is to visit Attleborough rail station to find outhow rail passengers are benefiting from a refurbishment project.

Mr Perkins will meetwith representatives of Abellio Greater Anglia at 10.15am on Tuesday 26thJanuary to view the recent improvements completed by train operator.

The upgrade work included:

  • The complete resurfacing of platform 1, including replacementcopers (slabs at the platform edge) and tactiles (the contoured slabs next tothe copers which warn passengers both visually and by their texture of approachto the edge of the platform) and improvements todrainage and repairs to the station building and fencing;

  • The complete resurfacing of platform 2, including replacementcopers and tactiles, as well as removal ofvegetation, redecoration of the waiting shelter, additional lighting and newplatform drainage.
