New ticket machine and CCTV improves customer service at Hythe rail station

A new ticket machine and CCTV have been installed at Hythe station after a £44Kinvestment by train operator, Abellio Greater Anglia.

The new Scheidt & Bachmann ticket machine,which replaces the existing Pertis machine, accepts cash and card paymentsand allows customers to purchase ‘walkup and go’ tickets and collect pre-paid tickets and tickets which have beenbought online. The machine also allows customers to purchase peak tickets forthe following day from 12:00.

When purchasing a ticket, the screen willalso display relevant information concerning any travel restrictions that mayapply to a particular ticket type, helping to ensure that customers are easilyable to purchase the correct and most appropriate ticket for their intendedjourney.

The machine is located on the Colchester /London bound platform.
