Rail overtakes bus and coach as preferred route to/from London Stansted Airport

Railhas overtaken bus and coach as the preferred method of travel to/from London StanstedAirport for the last quarter of 2015, figures reveal.

Thedata, released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), shows that the modalshare for rail travel to the airport was 28.59% (up 3.6% on the previousquarter) whilst the proportion using the bus or coach was 26.26%.

Stansted Airport now attracts around 23 millionvisitors annually with Stansted Express passenger numbers up 20% in 2015 (exceedingthe rate of growth at the airport) to almost 5 million - with the trainoperator’s range of low cost Advance offer fares and fast, frequent servicescited as the reasons that people choose to travel to Stansted Airport by rail.

StanstedExpress is the fastest and most comfortable way to travel between centralLondon and the Airport. Journey time to/from Liverpool Street is just 47minutes or 36 minutes from Tottenham Hale and the train station at the airportis directly under the airport terminal, just a 2 minute walk to check-in.

Withtrains every 15 minutes between London Liverpool Street and StanstedAirport, Stansted Express not onlyoffers customers a frequent service, but also travel on one of the most moderntrain fleets in the country, which include free Wi-fi, unlimited luggageallowance, free charge points and an at seat trolley service of drinks andsnacks.
