Seats upgraded on Class 170 trains

Abellio Greater Anglia isinvesting over £100K to improve the travelling environment on its fleet ofClass 170 trains.

The trains, which operateon local railway lines in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, will have allthe upholstery replaced on over 2000 seats over the coming months.

One train has already beencompleted and is back in service, providing passengers with a cleaner, smarterinterior.

Commenting on the start ofthe refurbishment programme, Abellio Greater Anglia's Fleet Manager North, DaveLupton, said: "We are delighted to begin this refresh of the seat coverson all our Class 170 carriages, which will deliver a significant improvement tothe travelling environment for passengers.”

The Class 170 fleetcomprises four two-car and eight three-car trains which operate servicesbetween Norwich and Cambridge, Ipswich and Lowestoft, Ipswich and Cambridge /Peterborough and Norwich and GreatYarmouth / Lowestoft / Cromer / Sheringham.
