Stansted Mountfitchet ticket office reopens upon completion of improvement works

Stansted Mountfitchet ticket officereopened on Monday after an improvement scheme was completed.

Abellio Greater Anglia has invested £470K toimprove the facilities, with a further £180K from the Department forTransport’s ‘Access for All’ fund to create easier access for those withmobility problems.

The work has included the completerefurbishment of the booking hall with improvements to the ticket office,including better access for pushchairs and those with mobility problems, accessibleticket office windows and the installation of a new, easily accessible toiletcompliant with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Passengers are also benefiting from arefurbished waiting room, a new Customer Information screen and an additionalcard-only ticket machine on the London-bound platform.

Over the coming weeks, more CustomerInformation screens will be installed along with an upgraded CCTV system andnew lighting, as well as improvements to the staff areas.
