Generous passengers atAbellio Greater Anglia’s Wivenhoe station raised £218 for Breast Cancer Care onFriday 1 July.
Cupcakes, scones, andfresh strawberries and cream were on the menu at the station, along with araffle and competition to raise further funds.
Petrina Murphy, AreaCustomer Service Manager, said: “We are very pleased to have raised this muchmoney for Breast Cancer Care, a very important charity which is close to ourhearts. We would like to thank our superb customers for their generosity andsupport.”
Jayne Sumner, RailEngagement Manager at Essex County Council, said: “Almost everyone has beenaffected by cancer and the money raised from this event will help to fund vitalresearch into the condition. We would like to say a huge thank you to the localcommunity in Wivenhoe who supported this event.”
