A group of volunteers at a North Norfolk railway station are holding an event to raise funds for the station gardens.

Station adopters at West Runton, on the Bittern Line, are holding their annual event on Saturday 26 August to raise money for the gardens.

The adopter group, which has previously held successful tea party events, will be selling cakes and local produce at the station from 2pm to 4pm. The station will be festooned in bunting and there will be a variety of stalls.

Station adopter Jane Bothwell said: “We are very much looking forward to holding our annual event at the station. This year it will be enhanced by live music from the Pleasant Pluckers from Briston, which will help to create a party atmosphere.”

James Reeve, Greater Anglia’s Area Customer Service Manager, said: “We’re very grateful to the excellent station adopter team at West Runton for holding an event this year. The team has held some very popular events in the past and we hope that people enjoy a day out on the Bittern Line.

“West Runton is a beautiful station and the team of adopters work very hard to keep the gardens looking bright and welcoming.”
