Will Quince MP to unveil new ticket machine and CCTV at Hythe rail station

Colchester MP Will Quince willvisit Hythe station on Thursday 10 September to officially unveil a new ticketvending machine and CCTV which has recently been installed at the station,after a £44K investment by train operator, Abellio Greater Anglia.

The new Scheidt & Bachmann ticket machine,which replaces the existing Pertis machine, accepts cash and card paymentsand allows customers to purchase ‘walkup and go’ tickets and collect pre-paid tickets and tickets which have beenbought online. The machine also allows customers to purchase peak tickets forthe following day from 12:00.

When purchasinga ticket, the screen will also display relevant information concerning anytravel restrictions that may apply to a particular ticket type, helping toensure that customers are easily able to purchase the correct and mostappropriate ticket for their intended journey.

The machine is located on the Colchester / Londonbound platform.

Mr Quince will meet Area Customer Service Manager,Petrina Murphy at 3.30pm on Thursday 10th September to view theimprovements.
