Work begins to upgrade Hatfield Peverel station waiting room

Railpassengers using Hatfield Peverel rail station are to benefit from a betterwaiting environment thanks to an improvement scheme being carried out byAbellio Greater Anglia.

Workcommenced this week to upgrade the ticket office and waiting room area with DDA compliant push buttonautomatic doors, energy-efficient heating, as well as new flooring, seating andredecoration in Abellio Greater Anglia colours.

The waiting area will alsooffer passengers the opportunity to charge laptops and mobile phones and work whilethey wait with plug sockets, tables and comfortable seating.

Thework is due to be completed later in the Spring and the waiting room will beout of use until the work is complete.

The TicketOffice, which is within the waiting room area, will also be closed from 10ameach day until the work is complete. Customer Service Assistants will beavailable on the platform to assist passengers during normal ticket officehours (after 10am) to provide information and sell tickets from handheldmachines.
